The Community Development team are developing courses and workshops in the more isolated areas within the borough, with the aim of attracting local residents and those who are disengaged with education. Promoting adult learning through local events is also a key part of Community Development's work.

Some of the services we provide include:

• An outreach Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) service for adults focusing on education and employment
• Employability workshops
• Ex-offender support service
• Developing and delivering pilot projects
• Capacity building of new and potential providers as well as existing ones
• Supporting local development on council estates through IAG and provision in learning
• Coordinating and leading the Personal Best volunteer programme
• Spearhead for Adult Learners’ Week in Hackney
• Supporting and promoting borough wide campaigns such as Get Hackney Reading
