Family Learning often leads onto other things:
A Turkish parent who took part in Language and Play and Literacy and Numeracy courses in now studying English at a further education college.

Another parent joined a Wider Family Learning course in creative writing. She then progressed to do a Family Literacy Language & Numeracy course, and finally an accredited course called “Helping my child with reading”. She is now confident that she can help her children and eager to continue learning.

Other parents move on to direct involvement with their child’s school – an Indian parent who took part in Literacy courses helped set up and now runs a toy library in her child’s school. She has also started teaching Punjabi classes.
