Supplementary Schools enhance the learning experiences of young people through the provision of out of school hours classes and clubs. They offer a range of learning opportunities:
- national curriculum subjects
- religious studies
- mother-tongue classes
- cultural studies
- extracurricular activities such as sport, music, dance and drama
- parental involvement opportunities
They run throughout the week in the evenings or at weekends and are set up by local community groups. The schools operate from a variety of venues including community centres, places of worship and mainstream schools.
