Mapping World Stories, illustrated by nationally recognised local author/illustrator David Lucas and endorsed by ex-Children's Laureate Michael Rosen, is a legacy resource for schools, local residents and tourists. It is a celebration of authors and literary figures past and present living in or connected to the London Borough of Hackney.

The map itself will be a thing of beauty to be displayed and treasured everywhere. It will also be a practical guide enabling teachers, residents and visitors to the borough to walk Hackney’s streets and be informed about famous residents connected to the area.

The map will engender feelings of local pride and ownership and will encourage children to absorb local literature in an immediate way. They will be able to walk their own history and see how their own streets have contributed to some great literary works.
