| The Key

The Key is a register for children aged 0-19 years with disabilities or special educational needs. The Key offers information, advice, service development, events and networking. It aims to improve access and take up of services and identify gaps in provision by health, social services, education, voluntary sector, housing and learning and leisure.
Services provided by the Key include helping people complete registration forms, advice, information and advocacy. The Key produce a newsletter and also offers a free Leisure Card (from September 2003) for children registered with the Key. This entitles holders to free swimming sessions and other leisure activities at a reduced rate. If your child is not registered, you can obtain a registration form from Kunbi Jones.
The service is aimed at children, families, carers, service providers, policy makers and implementers. It is open Monday - Friday 9.30 a.m. - 5.30 p.m. Children and young people can be referred through their doctor, social worker, health visitor or any other professional. Self or carer referrals are also accepted.
