The aims of the 2 Year Old Extended Free Childcare Pilot is to create 290 childcare places in the most economically disadvantaged communities, in order to improve outcomes for the children. An additional element of the pilot is to work closely with their families. The Pilot is now live, and we are encouraging Referrers to work with families to complete and send in applications. The key dates of the project plan for your information are:
- AUGUST 2009 – Applications Packs have been sent out to key stakeholders. Applications received for childcare places and Childcare Places (Awarding) Panel to meet throughout August.
- SEPTEMBER 2009 – Childcare places start to be filled
