| How to access a children's centre daycare place |

|
Who is eligible for a place?
- A child aged between twelve weeks and five years
- A child whose parents live or work in Hackney
- The child should not normally be attending any other childcare provision
Admissions Policy
Who should I contact?
Admission to the Children’s Centre is managed by the individual Children's Centre
- Application forms and information about fees and tax credits are available from the individual Children’s Centres
- Completed application forms must be returned to the Children's Centre where you will be placed on the admissions register
- The Children's Centre will contact you to discuss your wishes
You will be required to complete a placement agreement form which will be reviewed at agreed intervals
When allocting places children's centres seek to:
- Take into consideration the different needs of individual children and families
- Make early education and childcare available to children from Hackney’s diverse communities
- Maintain gender balance
- Promote inclusion by giving children with special needs and or disabilities an opportunity to benefit from early education and childcare.
Admissions Priorities
If the demand for places is greater than the number of available places, places will be allocated in the following order of priority:
- Child assessed as being in need for a funded place
- Child assessed by professional as having social, educational or medical needs (unfunded place)
- Child has sibling attending the centre
