An allowance of up to £100 per term, may be given to students to provide exceptional support to students aged 16 -19, who are experiencing financial difficulty with meeting costs associated with learning.
In order to qualify students must meet the following criteria:
- You should be a registered pupil at school/college aged 16–19 years
- You must be living in Hackney on 30 June 2007
- Your parents’ joint income is less than £30,810 a year or they/you receive DWP (Department for Work & Pensions) benefits or Inland Revenue Tax Credits
- You do not receive an Educational Maintenance Allowance (EMA).
The one-off maximum payment of £300.00 can be provided depending on your specific needs and your individual circumstances.
You can apply for financial help throughout the year as long as there are funds available.
The fund will close when the sum allocated by the LSC has been spent. The closing date for applications for financial help is 30 November 2007
