14-19 Education, School 6th Forms & Colleges

Hackney offers learners between the ages of 14 and 19 a wide range of educational opportunities and has ambitious plans for the future. As well as the information in the 14 to 19 prospectus below, more can be found on the Choice London 14-19 course website. See Choice link on bottom left navigation (every page) and right column (14-19 Education pages).

6th form education is available in Hackney at B6 Sixth Form College, Cardinal Pole RC School, The Community College Hackney, Our Lady’s Convent High School, The Skinners’ Company’s School for Girls, Stoke Newington School and, for pupils with special educational needs, at Ickburgh School.

    Diplomas are a completely new way of studying which changes the emphasis onto future employability skills.
  • 14-19 Education - the national picture
    Over the next ten years, 14 to 19 year olds across the country will be offered greater choice in the courses, subjects and qualifications they can take.

  • 16-19 Learner Support Fund
    A one-off grant, of up to £1000, may be given to students to meet specific needs whilst studying.
  • 16-19 Travel Support
    Support with Travel is available for some Young People aged 16-19.
