In-Year Admissions

In year admissions are applications made for school places outside the reception class intake and Year 6 transfer to secondary school in September each year.

If you have come to live in Hackney and require a school place for your child or, have moved address within the borough and require a school closer to your new home, you must complete a In year application form where you can express a preference for the school you would like your child to attend. Your completed form must be returned to The Hackney Learning Trust Admissions Team with Passport/Birth Certificate and a Proof of Address.

You can obtain the form from the Pupil Admissions Team on 020 820 7000 or email admissions@learningtrust.co.uk Hackney residents making preferences for schools outside the borough must contact the Authority the school is in to find out how to make a preference to their schools. Information on neighbouring boroughs can be found here.

If you are applying to an academy, free school or voluntary-aided school, these will have its own admissions policy, you will need to complete the school's own supplementary information form if you wish to apply on religious grounds. This can be obtained from the school and must be returned to the school. You may also need to provide a baptism certificate or priest's reference. Further information is available from the school or you can visit their website.

If you are applying for a school transfer, please note that once an application is received it may take up to 20 working days to process and we advise parents not to contact us during this time as we will not have any further information available. You will be sent a letter letting you know the outcome of your application.
