Advice and Support for Children in Care

Educational progress for Children in Care is monitored and supported through the designated teacher for Children in Care in each school (primary, secondary or special). Additional education advice and support is offered through the ‘looked after children’ education team 020 8356 3610 and post 16, through the Leaving Care team 020 7249 1010. The Head of the Virtual School for Children in Care can be contacted on 020 8820 7227.

Officers in the Learning Trust are able to provide specialist advice depending on the area e.g. attendance, vulnerable pupils, special needs working in a complementary with other agencies particularly the assigned social worker for the particular child/young person.

Further information and advice for ‘looked after children’ can be found on the Who Cares? Trust website
