The Personal Education Plan (PEP) documents and guidance used in Hackney have been prepared in conjunction with the education psychology service and ‘looked after children’ education team.

PEPs are initiated by the social worker and should be updated every 6 months. A PEP acts as a record of progress and achievement and establishes clear goals; in involves the school, and pupil as well as carer and social worker.

Designated teachers for children in care in primary and secondary schools can download the forms and guidance.
