The Performing Arts Learning Zone is an online resource designed for teachers and partner organisations working with schools in the field of performing arts. Here you will find useful teaching resources and information on our activities.
Arts Class The Learning Trust is delighted to launch Arts Class, a new set of arts initiatives for schools and colleges in Hackney. The project selection for 2011-12 is as follows:
Big Dance Schools’ Pledge 2012 (Primary and secondary schools) A large scale dance scheduled for 1.00pm, Friday 18 May, 2012. Choreography by Wayne McGregor will be available from January 2012.
Dance Remix (Secondary schools and colleges)
A new dance in a high profile summer 2012 setting. Further details soon.
Starlit Festival of Children’s Literature (Primary and secondary schools)
Drama workshops and primary teacher professional development to be added to this year’s festival, 10-14 October 2011.
Barbican Box (Secondary schools and colleges)
This pilot drama project is produced by the Barbican and delivered in partnership with The Learning Trust and the theatre company Told by an Idiot. Barbican Box is a package of creative resources, direct involvement with theatre practitioners, CPD training, a theatre visit, in-school mentoring and performances at the Barbican in March and July 2012.
Film Factory (Primary and secondary schools and colleges)
This showcasing of films made in media classes will return in 2012.
Choralympiad (Primary and secondary schools)
Produced for Hackney by The Learning Trust Music Service in collaboration with the London Welsh Male Voice Choir, 100 young voices are sought, aged 8-13 years, for a performance at Alexandra Palace on Thursday 5 July 2012.
