Our Primary Strategy Vision
Primary education is a critical stage in children's development - It shapes them for life. As well as giving them the essential tools for learning, primary education is about children experiencing the joy of discovery, solving problems, being creative.
  • Introduction
Our Primary Strategy Vision has been drawn up in collaboration with a group of Headteachers, who have worked with The Learning Trust to identify a framework for schools and settings to work towards.
  • Context : Birth to Three
The following section relates our Primary Strategy Vision to the local and national agendas. It sets the context for our work locally to enable us to deliver our vision for primary and early years education.
  • Every Child Matters - Children's Services
Change for Children sets out a vision for the transformation of children’s services across traditional agency boundaries leading to better services focused on ensuring improved outcomes for all children and for those in need.
  • Department For Education and Skills: Five Year Strategy
This section outlines the Department for Education and Skills (DfES) published its Five-Year Strategy for Children and Learners. This strategy sets out the major challenges that remain in education.
  • Partnerships
Partnerships are important to the development of extended schools and children centres. It is at the core of our vision to make partnerships effective across education, health and social services.
  • Leadership & Management
Successful leaders have a mission to raise standards and are driven by courage and conviction to create opportunities to raise pupil achievement and ensure better outcomes for children.
  • Frameworks For Learning
Our framework for learning will be linked to personalised learning, demands a curriculum entitlement and choice that delivers a breadth of study, personal relevance and flexible learning pathways through the education system.
  • Learning & Teaching
Through learning and teaching every child succeeds with the provision of an inclusive education and culture of high expectations. We value the diversity of our community and work force, which bring a celebration of cultural and religious difference.
  • Conditions for Learning
The experiences that we provide are the most powerful way that we ensure equality of access for all our children. We aim to deliver high-quality learning within a framework of an engaging, broad and rich curriculum.
