Special Needs
Hackney Parent Partnership Service

Hackney Parent Partnership Service offers information and support to parents/carers and their children with Special Educational Needs (SEN). The free service is open to Hackney parents. Interpreters can be arranged if needed.

We promote partnership with parents and carers giving a "powerful say" to Hackney parents, carers and young people with special educational needs. We help parents and carers use their own knowledge and skills, contributing to their understanding of how best to help their child, through training and information sessions. For 2008/2009 academic year we have put together a series of information sessions for parents/carers in Hackney.

Independent Parental Supporters

How we can help

  • Are you worried that your child is falling behind at school?
  • Do you think something is wrong but you're not sure what?
  • Have you been told that your child needs a 'statutory assessment'?
  • Do you disagree with your child's 'statement'?
  • Would you like help to talk to the school?
  • Do you think your child needs more help than they are getting now?
  • Do you want to find out where to go for other help and support?
  • Promoting partnership with parents and carers
  • A "powerful say" for Hackney parents, carers and young people with special educational needs
