For some children the Learning Trust may decide that their needs are such that they can best be met by attending a special school in Hackney or, in some cases, in a neighbouring borough.

In a special school:

• all pupils have significant Special Educational Needs
• staff have specialist knowledge and expertise in dealing with a particular range of needs
• classes are small
• specialist equipment may be available
