Closure details - schools and other settings
|20 May 2020 17:26|
During the half term break all Hackney Schools are closed.
The information outlined below reflects the expected situation when schools return on 1 June.
The majority of Hackney Schools and settings continue to stay open during term time for vulnerable children and children of critical workers.
Vulnerable children and children of critical workers are defined as follows:
- Vulnerable children: children who are supported by social care, including child in need plans, on child protection plans, ‘looked after’ children, young carers, disabled children, those with education, health and care (EHC) plans, and those with a multi-agency early help plan
- Children of critical workers: children whose parents are critical to the Covid-19 response and cannot be safely cared for at home
See further information on who are classed as critical workers and vulnerable children.
Primary schools are planning to open further during the rest of term to the designated year groups: early years, Reception, Year 1 and Year 6. The exact start date for this is determined by the schools, with all having a view to a safe start for this provision from a date after 1st June. Schools will be in differing positions about this: you should contact your child’s school for further information.
Secondary schools are planning to open further during the rest of term to the designated year groups: Year 10 and Year 12 for some sessions only. The exact arrangements are determined by the schools, with all having a view to a safe start for this provision from the government designated date of 15th June. You should contact your child’s school for further information.
Schools continue to provide resources and lessons for those children learning at home.
The schools listed below have confirmed that they are closed. This list will be updated as and when we receive further information from schools.
