Primary to secondary transfer for September 2017
If you are a Hackney resident and your child is in year 6, born between 1 September 2005 and 31 August 2006 please apply for a secondary school place by 31 October 2016. You must apply using the online application form eAdmissions.
At this time if you have not applied, you can still make an application using the online eAdmissions website, but your application will be recorded as a 'late' application and processed as such. We will if possible let you know the outcome on 1st March 2017.
A separate application form must be completed for consideration of a place at the City of London Academy Shoreditch Park, please use the online form.
As part of this process, Hackney Academies and secondary schools use banding. Applicants will need to take the cognitive abilities tests (CATs) to be considered for Hackney Academies and secondary schools.
Year 6 children attending a Hackney primary school will be tested in school before the end of October 2016. For year 6 children attending primary schools outside Hackney testing will take place on 26 November 2016 and 3 December 2016 at various secondary schools in Hackney. These are the only dates available so it is important that your child attends on the date/venue allocated to you. Parents will be notified of the date and location via email 10 days prior to testing. If your child is not tested this will affect your application. Please email email@example.com if you have a query about the testing.
Hackney’s Secondary Schools 2017 Admissions Guide for Parents contains all the admissions arrangements for secondary schools located in Hackney as well as how the process works.
Parents will be notified of the outcome of their application on 1 March 2017.
Please contact the Admissions Team if you require further information by emailing Y6sectransfer@learningtrust.co.uk or call 020 8820 7247 or 020 8820 7489.
